Tomorrow Nintendo will begin adding demos to the 3DS' eShop. The first demo to be added to the Nintendo eShop will be the highly-anticipated survival horror game Resident Evil Revelations.

"The demo program allows Nintendo 3DS players to be among the first to test-drive select games. Players can try out new genres or series, often weeks before the full versions are available in stores," said Tony Elison, Nintendo of America's senior director and general manager of Network Business. It's a filler press release quote but I found it entertaining. It makes it sound like Nintendo just invented demos.

A demo for Revelations shipped with Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D. It's possible that the demo coming tomorrow is the same thing. If we're lucky, it won't be. The sample included with Mercenaries 3D was extremely short.

Revelations bridges the gap between Resident Evil 4 and RE5. It stars RE fan favorites Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, who are now Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance agents. Chris and partner Jessica Sherawat have gone missing during an investigation of a terrorist group called Il Veltro. Jill and her own partner, Parker Luciani, trace the pair to their last-known location, a cruise ship called the Queen Zenobia.

The next demo up for an eShop release is Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, coming on January 26th. Trial versions of Rayman Origins and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D are in the pipeline as well. No dates were provided for those particular demos, though.
