Sony seems to enjoy making games that make fanboys in the opposite camps angry (that’s assuming there are even fanboys left in the Nintendo camp). This time some news has surfaced regarding a game called Titan by the now-defunct studio, Stormfront Studios. And guess which system it’s not coming to?
PlayStation Lifestyle is known for uncovering some crazy information about games. It’s the kind of stuff that leaves gamers daydreaming about games they would love to play. So get this, they found some concept art (among other info) for a project that may or may not be scrapped. As fore-mentioned, It’s called Titan and it’s like a spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus. Apparently the game seen players venturing about taking down giant alien bugs while fighting alongside a robotic titan. Nice.
Anyway, while the development company is totally done and through with, the intellectual property for Titan is not down and out. In fact, it’s guaranteed that this game isn’t coming to the Xbox 360 because Sony is the one who owns the rights to the material. So what does that mean? It’s exactly the same as Star Wars: Battlefront III being owned by LucasArts but was developed by Free Radical. Now despite the fact that Free Radical is now a subsidiary of Crytek it doesn't mean that LucasArts abandoned Battlefront. If Titan is any good, just like SW: BFIII, Sony could pick up a new developer to head up the project and bring it exclusively to the PlayStation 3.
Whether the project gets put back on rails or not, one thing is for sure: this Shadow of the Colossus clone, cool as it may have been, is not coming to the Xbox 360. Unless, of course, Sony sells the IP to Microsoft. But honestly, why would they do that?
