Subscribe To Sleeping Dogs Gameplay Video Features Fighting, Motorcycles, Explosions Updates
Ever since Activision bailed on True Crime: Hong Kong due to its expenses, Square Enix has picked up the ball and decided to run with it both in terms of publishing the game and marketing it with its newfound name, Sleeping Dogs.

A new video interview has surfaced thanks to GT TV with the United Front Studios' lead designer, Mike Skupa, giving his input on the game's story, the lead character, the game's fighting mechanics as well as the vehicles and the thing that glues it all together, high-quality Michael Bay 'Splosions™.

Based on what was shown off in the trailer it was hard to tell exactly how clean the mechanics are. The fighting, for instance, looked very standard-fare and certainly isn't as physics-motivated as GTA IV nor as over-the-top as Saints Row.

The chase sequences definitely looked interesting but again, not enough was shown off to see how well the game mechanics play or how smooth they actually are. The one thing that stands out is that Skupa mentioned that they took a lot of the play mechanics from a scripted, linear third-person shooter and added them on top of an open-world play-style. That definitely sounds interesting.
