For the longest we’ve been receiving shovel-ware and underwhelming Wii titles, strangely with the exception of anything published by Sega. However, Detn8 Games has released news regarding the upcoming high-end racing title for the Nintendo Wii, boasting good graphics and intense gameplay.
I have to admit, this is one of the first times I’ve read a press release for a Wii game where they’re actually proud of the game’s visual presentation. In fact, Det8n Games and Awesome Play stated that the game will be “graphically stunning”. I’m a bit stoked knowing that developers have actually put some time into a Wii title and there’s actually going to be some effort put into the graphical front of the game.
According to the press release, “A 3D, three-sided pyramid menu provides access to the game’s 30 levels. The pyramid menu displays 10 Solo tracks, 10 Race tracks, and 10 Battle arenas. Initially, only the lowest-tier levels are unlocked. Players need to achieve a number of goals to unlock level links to the more challenging levels above on the pyramid menu.”
Now the real kicker with this game is probably with its multiplayer functionality: the game comes jam-packed with multiplayer modes supporting up to eight-players via split-screen action, allowing for a mixture of using up to four Wii Remotes and any combination of four Nunchuks, Classic Controllers, Nintendo GameCube controllers, or Logitech Speed Force Wireless force feedback racing wheels.
The game will also sport solo modes and battle race-modes set among all kinds of unlockable content. Speed Zone will be exclusively available for the Nintendo Wii this May.
