Star Wars: First Assault Was Supposed To Be Battlefront 3 Precursor
Ah, LucasArts. It seems like in the past decade they haven't been able to do anything right with their gaming division since Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Well, more bad news incoming as gamers can relish in disappointment knowing that Star Wars: First Assault will likely be trashed, even though the digital release was supposed to be a precursor for Star Wars: Battlefront 3.
Kotaku is reporting that one of their many inside sources is stating that the game was originally supposed to be released this spring but troubled development kept it from making its release schedule.
For those who don't remember, Star Wars: First Assault first popped up in a leaked set of promo boxes for Xbox Live. The game is basically a digital, smaller version of Battlefront 3 and would work as a testbed of sorts to gauge and see what the community interest would be if Lucasarts decided to go through with a larger, boxed copy of the game.
As it stands, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 has been shelved and the only remnants have been floating around on YouTube. You can check out the leaked screenshots of First Assault below.
