The top dogs of BioWare have officially vacated the premises. Joining Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk is the lead writer of BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, Daniel Erickson. After seven years with the company, Erickson called it quits.

Joystiq's Massively was tipped off to the tweet from Erickson who kept it short and simple on his Twitter account, saying...
As part of leaving BioWare I'm officially starting a twitter account for job hunt and design thoughts.

I guess Electronic Arts really does fit the motto of the Reapers, and instead of staying around and being assimilated, many of BioWare's important staff have taken flight.

Erickson joins Muzyka and Zeschuk who left BioWare back in August.

There were some stories spreading that the fan backlash caused the duo to depart, but Muzyka shot down journalists and praised gamers, claiming that it was the passionate fans who helped build their brand.

Many BioWare loyalists have been trying to rally together to get BioWare away from EA. It's entirely possible that with so many of the top talent departing from the company as it sinks into EA's death-grip that a few years down the road we could see them re-unite for a Kickstarter venture (or two) to revive the old-school BioWare games that us gamers fell in love with.

For now, best of luck to Daniel Erickson on his adventures away from BioWare. Most people are frowned upon for leaving a job behind in today's employment climate, but I'm glad Erickson is out from under EA and hopefully he can find a worthwhile place of employment soon enough. No sense tainting your soul for a few dollar bills.
