Capcom and FromSoftware have teamed together to for one of the lesser talked about games coming out for the Xbox 360. Steel Battalion is a mixed controller game that combines Kinect with a traditional controller as players have to maintain their crew’s moral, keep the inside of the mech-tank operable and fight off soldiers and other mechs using fast-paced team tactics.
The new trailer for Steel Battalion keeps the intensity factors high as the video shows off players dealing with live grenades inside the mech, avoiding choking to death from the smoke of a rocket, as well as fighting off hordes of ground troops. The game looks like a really, really intense thrill-ride that we normally don’t get from first-person games. Check out the video to see for yourself.
I think this is one of the few FPS games I’m excited to play that actually looks like it contains the grit, weight and action that actually separates itself from all the other cookie-cutter FPS games out there. It would be especially cool if multiple players could all work together inside the mech, similar to Red Orchestra 2.
You can look for Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor to launch exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Kinect in 2012. You can learn more about Capcom’s original new title by heading on over to the Official Website.
