Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Rolls Out All-Star Voice Cast

Several individuals have voiced Autobot leader Optimus Prime over the years but, for old school fans of the Transformers, only one voice will do; and that’s Peter Cullen. Developer High Moon Studios announced that Cullen will be reprising the legendary role once again in upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, alongside the original voice of Dinobot Grimlock, Greg Berger.

“There is no mistaking the voices of Optimus Prime and Grimlock, and we are so happy that fans will get to experience a game featuring the distinctive voices of many of the most iconic and popular Transformers characters,” said Mark Blecher, SVP of Digital Media and Marketing for Hasbro.

Back in 2010, High Moon cracked the licensed-product-to-game code with Transformers: War for Cybertron, making a game that was based on a line of action figures that could actually stand toe-to-toe with just about any other third-person shooter on the market. With upcoming Fall of Cybertron, they hope to capture lightening in a bottle for a second time and, if as much attention is being paid to the rest of the game as High Moon has given to the voice talent, fans the world over could be in for a real treat.

Joining Cullen and Berger will be a voice-star-studded cast featuring the likes of Nolan North (Uncharted), Troy Baker (The Last of Us), Fred Tatasciore (Batman: Arkham City), Steve Blum (Shadows of the Damned) and Isaac Singleton (Street Fighter Series). Several of these guys have voiced their respective bots in other games, animated series or the live action movies, and all have been featured in about a bajillion other projects.

“This is the definitive Transformers video game, and we absolutely had to have these iconic voices onboard in order to tell this story,” said High Moon Studio Head Peter Della. “Since it’s an origins story, we were able to explore some of the coolest characters in the lore…and then go after the best and most authentic voice talent possible to do the franchise right.”

So, we can all rest assured that the Fall of Cybertron voice cast is going to be top-notch. As for the rest of the game, we can see how everything turns out when Transformers wage war once again on August 28.
