Finnish developers FrozenByte’s upcoming adventure fantasy game, Trine 2, is cross-platform compatible thanks to the Steamworks platform. This basically means that Mac users can play with PC users and vice versa. Unfortunately, PS3 gamers and Xbox 360 owners won’t be able to share multiplayer experiences in the new fantasy title.

According to Joystiq, those who pre-order the game right now can partake in some multiplayer beta testing meaning you can finally determine who is better at gaming: Mac users or PC users.

Lauri Hyvärinen, CEO of Frozenbyte commented in the press release, saying…
"The cross-platform multiplayer between Windows and Mac makes it easier to find people to play with, allowing everyone to enjoy the full co-op potential of the beta and the upcoming game,"

You can pre-order the game right now to gain access to the beta, which also includes the cross-platform multiplayer capabilities. The game also sports compatibility for Nvidia’s 3D Vision, so you can see the game popping out at you if you’re into that sort of thing.

Trine 2 will be available for $14.99. The collector’s edition of the game will go for $24.99. Both versions of the game will be available soon for the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC and Mac.

You can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the Official Website.
