Paradox Interactive announced a new turn-based strategy game today, called Warlock: Master of the Arcane. Warlock returns players to the fantasy world of Ardania from the Majesty series.
Players assume the role of the Great Mage and must assemble an empire. They'll manage cities and assembly an army to expand their realm. They'll battle other wizards to attain the title of Warlock.
The player will command three different races of units, in addition to summoned and wild creatures. They must also research and master dozens of spells, some of which can be combined to powerful effect. Players can also side with gods to gain further advantage.
"The great thing about Warlock is that it inherits the best elements from classic turn-based games and renovates them with a modern look and feel," said producer Mattias Lilja. "Partnering with Ino-Co Plus to bring this breath of fresh air to the genre is just icing on the cake, they’ve done well to bring the Majesty world to life in the past and we are confident they’ll deliver again."
Warlock: Master Of The Arcane will be released in the second quarter of 2012. A few pieces of art from the game are below.
