Listen up, tread-heads! World of Tanks has officially deployed worldwide on the Xbox 360, meaning those of you with an Xbox Live Gold account can download the game, jump into your favorite war machine and roll out onto the battlefield to do some series damage starting...Now!

Last week, Wargaming prepared the hounds of war for a full-scale assault, announcing that the Xbox 360 version of its free-to-play tank battle game would be arriving on Microsoft's home console sometime this week. Well, now we know exactly when the official deployment will be. In fact, it's today. So as soon as you're done perusing all of these pretty words I'm stringing together for you, it's time to boot up the 360, download the game and get to playing for realsies.

In case you're in need of a crash course in the game, you can always check out the official website to gorge on all the details. You could also download Wargaming's free digital magazine, Let's Battle, which has an exclusive feature to prepare gamers for this version of the game. But for the quick and gritty version: Two teams of 15 tank pilots roll out onto the battlefield and only one can end the day victorious. The game includes tanks from all over the world in light, medium and heavy versions, meaning that players have plenty of options when choosing which vehicle will best suit their strengths. Even more important is having a nice mix of tanks on your team, meaning that working with your new online buddies is going to be key to victory.

In case you're interested in the game but don't know if it's worth getting a Gold subscription for, you can actually download the game now and enjoy a free seven-day timed trial without needing said subscription. If you like what you see, then maybe you'll decide to drop some change on Gold and get back into the action on your Xbox 360.

Built specifically for its new platform, this version of World of Tanks boasts new controls, Xbox Live features like parties, friend invites and Achievements, and more. There's also an in-game purchasing feature for those who want to drop some additional change on the premium tanks. Starting today, more than 100 tanks from the US, UK and Germany are available with more heading down the pipeline via regular updates.

World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition is a tremendous leap forward for Wargaming,” said Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi. “Not only does this release mark the company's very first title on console, it also presents us the opportunity to bring World of Tanks to a tremendously passionate new audience of gamers around the world.”

If you act by Feb. 28, you can also get your hands on a pair of Founder's Packs, each one containing premium tanks, items and resources at 40 percent off the regular price. That should be a nice way to jump-start your career as a rolling warlord.
