Bond Cashes Check

Now we finally know how Bond gets all those great gadgets (not to mention all the ladies). Apparently, a studio is willing to pay Bond hand over fist, as Daniel Craig has scored a £13 million (approx. $26 million) contract to return as the tuxedoed secret agent – becoming the highest paid actor in the UK – according to Film Guardian.

For its money, the studio will get not one, but two more bond films out of Craig – first paying him £5 million (approx. $10 million) for the Casino Royale follow up and £8 million (approx. $16 million) for a third film.

"The fact is that he's become integral to the success of the Bond franchise and I'm not surprised that he's been given a new contract. Eon are obviously doing everything they can to keep him on board,” said Leon Forde of movie magazine Screen International.

Given the energy and vitality that Craig brought to the Bond series with the over-stuffed Casino Royale, the hefty paycheck is well deserved. It’s always good to see an instance of a hard worker getting his fair share, when so many lazy actors get huge checks just for showing up.
