Bruno Takes On NBC's Medium

I’m not a big fan of Sacha Baron Cohen’s intrusive comedic stylings. Borat had little draw for me, and I can’t say I’m terribly excited about his next picture, with a similar style of comedy, catching people unaware, by another Cohen character - Bruno, the fashion reporter.

I’m not the only one who isn’t crazy about Bruno. The cast and crew of NBC’s series Medium probably aren’t real impressed with the fictional character right now. In his latest stunt, Cohen somehow managed to infiltrate the set of the show and pose as one of the show’s extras, right up until he made his presence known, disrupting the scene as it filmed. According to Michael Ausiello, it wasn’t until security was removing the disruptive figure that people realized just who was in their midst.

What’s particularly interesting is that it’s currently unknown whether Cohen or one of his cohorts actually managed to film the stunt, or whether they’ll be relying on the footage from the episode (which had to reshoot the scene minus Cohen’s Bruno) to integrate into the Bruno movie. As Ausiello points out, Medium and Bruno are produced by rival studios, so the notion of shared footage is a bit unlikely, especially considering Bruno was a disruption to the show’s production.
