New Divergent Photos Show Guns And Knives, Advance Tickets Go On Sale Next Week

With Divergent once again featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, it's no surprise that some new photos from the feature adaptation of Veronica Roth's novel has made its way online. Among the new photos are guns, knives and a better look at Miles Teller, who plays Peter in the film. We also have an update on advance ticket sales, for those looking to grab their tickets ahead of the film's March 21 release date.

EW shared a number of photos, including the one above, which shows stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley toting some pretty big guns. The story centers on Woodley's character Tris, a teen living in dystopian Chicago where society is broken up into five factions. Because Tris is "Divergent," she'll never fit into any one faction, and she needs to keep her true nature a secret from the authorities. But as you might guess from the above photo, and the one below, the situation gets intense in this story...

Knives

We've seen glimpses of the knife-throwing practice previously, but judging by the background of the above photo -- it looks like there are bodies on the ground -- this is not a practice session.

It's worth noting the overlap among the cast of this film and a couple of other films, particularly as it relates to Shailene Woodley. Not only does she share multiple credits with Ansel Elgort, who plays her brother in Divergent and her love interest in The Fault in Our Stars (due out this Summer), she's also shared screen time with Miles Teller prior to Divergent. Teller can be seen in the photo below, along with Zoe Kravitz:

Peter

Teller plays Peter in the film. He's not the nicest guy, which should be a sharp contrast from the likable Sutter from The Spectacular Now. Both Teller and Woodley shined in James Pondsoldt's adaptation of Tim Tharp's novel, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of chemistry they have in Divergent, especially when factoring in how unfriendly Peter is. Tris isn't exactly the pal-around kind of character either, come to think of it...

Moving on to other Divergent news, the movie arrives in theaters March 21, but fans can start purchasing tickets for the movie on March 4, which is next week. Summit announced the news today, adding that those who purchase advance tickets before March 21 through Fandango or MovieTickets.com will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a walk-on role in the planned sequel, Insurgent. And anyone who purchases their tickets on March 4 (that day only) will receive a free download of of the book Divergent.

Here's one of the recent previews for the film...
