Emma Roberts Joins Jennifer Aniston Comedy We're The Millers

After Horrible Bosses grossed an impressive $209 million worldwide, Jennifer Aniston, who won praise for her comedic turn as a sexual harassment-happy dentist, sought an opportunity to reteam with co-star Jason Sudeikis and has found it with the crime-comedy We're the Millers. Directed by Dodgeball helmer Rawson Marshall Thurber, the movie centers on an ambitious pot dealer who is looking to smuggle a massive crop—we're talking upwards of 1,400 pounds—of marijuana across the Mexican border. But how do you get that much pot through border control? Masquerade as a family on vacation, of course!

Sudeikis will star as the entrepreneurial drug dealer, while Aniston will play his fake wife. Other reports have revealed comedy luminaries like Ed Helms (The Hangover) and Kathryn Hahn, who shared screentime with Aniston in Wanderlust, have also signed on. Now Deadline reports the winsome Emma Roberts has joined the cast, and is slated to play Julia, a 20-year-old runaway with a bad attitude who agrees to be Aniston and Sudeikis' teen daughter for the duration of their drug-seeking road trip.

As a child star, Roberts had snagged a number of leads, but as emerging ingénue she's still struggling to establish herself. She's scored roles in string of indies, but few of those have drawn favorable notice. Her most memorable role to date is the two-faced Jill Roberts in Scream 4. And while there were elements of her performance that were humorous—the self-injury scene was pretty funny—Roberts hasn't got much of a reputation as a comedienne. But surrounded by such a sharp cast of funny men and women seems the perfect place to master the craft of comedy fast.

We're the Millers will go into production later this month, and is expected to hit theaters in 2013.
