French Actress Elodie Yung In Talks To Play G.I. Joe 2's Jinx

For an international star, moving into Hollywood films can do incredible things. Just look at Christoph Waltz: at 56 years old, with nearly 100 titles under his belt, he took the opportunity to work with Quentin Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds and ended up taking home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Now French actress Elodie Yung is starting to ramp up the English-language leg of her career, but don't see Oscars coming with her newest project.

THR reports that Yung is now in talks with Paramount for a role in the untitled G.I. Joe sequel. While she hasn't appeared in an American film yet, she will be making her debut later this year in David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as Lisbeth Salander's (Rooney Mara) girlfriend. In G.I. Joe Yung will play Jinx, a ninja member of the Joe squad who also happens to be Storm Shadow's cousin. As previously reported, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks to play Roadblock while Channing Tatum is set to return as Duke. The film will be directed by Jon Chu and is set for release on August 10, 2012.

As posted by THR, if you need any convincing that Yung has the chops to play a ninja, check out this clip from Patrick Alessandrin's District 13: Ultimatum. I think she can handle it.
