Has Hilary Duff given up the teen beat? Variety says she's about to star with John Cusack, Joan Cusack, and Marissa Tomei in a dark political satire co-written and produced by John.
It's called Brand Hauser: Stuff Happens and the movie casts John Cusack as an under cover assassin assigned to take out a Middle East oil minister. For cover, he pretends to be producing a trade show and planning a wedding between a local celeb and a politician. Sounds a little like a sarcastic version of Syriana.
Where Duff figures in is anyone's guess, but the movie starts shooting this month in Bulgaria which means Hilary will have to leave the Disney lot to make it. Don't be afraid kid. We all have to grow up some time.
