"I was really excited about the idea of getting to play two characters in one film," The Host star Saoirse Ronan says in the new Host featurette. "It's the actor's dream, really, to do that."

Ronan is featured in the latest video promoting the upcoming movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's alien body-snatcher story The Host. The story follows Ronan's characters Melanie and Wanderer in a world where aliens have taken over most of the human race. Melanie's the human who belongs to the body that alien "soul" Wanderer has inhabited. The two characters exist in one body, which means Ronan's playing two different people.

The video below, courtesy of Fandango, introduces us to Wanderer, revealing the moment when she's first inserted into Melanie's body. Stephenie Meyer also appears in the video and praises Ronan's performance in the film.

Not only does the video do a decent job of laying out the set-up for the story, but we also get a few glimpses of what happens when Melanie and Wanderer begin working as a team. That includes tracking down Melanie's uncle and the other survivors hiding out in the desert. We see her arrival, her uncle keeping her from being killed, and Melanie/Wanderer seeing the hidden civilization created by what's left of the human resistance. That includes a quick glimpse of their farm.

The Host is directed by Andrew Niccol. In addition to Ronan, it stars Jake Abel, Max Irons, Diane Kruger, Chandler Canterbury and Boyd Holbrook. It arrives in theaters March 29. More information, photos and video can be found in our Blend FIlm Database.
