Described as a “stylish and spectacular 3D adventure,” Immortals follows a “power-mad” king who’s searching for a legendary weapon in ancient Greece, and the young villager who rises up against him. Mickey Rourke plays King Hyperion, while Henry Cavill is Theseus, the stonemason villager who’s destined for leadership and hopefully glory.

You can get to know Theseus a bit better in this TV spot, which includes a moment reminiscent of Braveheart, except instead of watching his secret-wife die, he’s witnessing the death of his mother, which will set him on the course to attempt to defeat King Hyperion.

Immortals is directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell), and produced by 300’s Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton, as well as The Fighter’s Ryan Kavanaugh. The film looks like it could be as visually stunning as 300 and the story definitely has potential. We'll have to wait and see if this one is as good as it looks.

Here’s one of the theatrical trailers for Immortals, which hits theaters 11/11/11:
