The Joker Will Probably Look Like This In Suicide Squad

Details on David Ayer’s planned Suicide Squad movie are hitting the Web at a rapid clip. Cast members are coming and going. Plot details are leaking. And we are discovering that Batman’s arch-nemesis – The Joker – will be a major player in the ensemble… and likely will look like so.

The following article will dive into Suicide Squad spoilers. Proceed with caution.

Jared Leto has confirmed that he will be playing the Clown Prince of Insanity in Suicide Squad, but plot details have informed us that, for now, The Joker will be locked away for the duration of the film and will be playing mind games on the villains in the Squad a la Hannibal Lecter. This suggests a juicy, scene-stealing role for Leto, and one that we hear might be teasing the Joker’s involvement in future DC movies – notably a Batman solo film. To that end, JoBlo goes on the record this morning with some interesting details about how The Joker will appear in Squad, stating that the murderous villain "is scarred all over his body because of his battles with Batman."

This makes sense, as Zack Snyder has been stating that his Batman, as played by Ben Affleck, is an older, grislier version of the Caped Crusader, who likely has been through numerous "wars" with his colorful rogue’s gallery. We’re guessing that Affleck’s Batman and Leto’s Joker have scrapped repeatedly in this new universe, and that’s likely why Joker starts Suicide Squad already in detention. There have been rumors (a TON of rumors on Squad) that Batman may make a cameo near the end of the film, setting up that solo Batman movie and making Leto’s villain the chief antagonist. But at the same time, we have been told that the Suicide Squad script might be going through revisions – primarily because so many details have been leaked to the Web.

Batman

JoBlo went into a ton of other Suicide Squad rumors in that story. They confirm what we reported earlier, that Magic Mike co-star Joe Manganiello is in the lead to play Deathstroke, saying that the character will be a hired assassin who works against the Suicide Squad (and isn’t a member of their team). They say that The Thinker is rumored to be part of the story, and that actor Geoffrey Rush was offered the role but passed on it. And they report that Karl "Dredd" Urban is the new name in the running for the role of Rick Flag.

There isn’t enough salt in the world for all of these rumors. And part of me is starting to believe that these leaks are calculated messages being sent out by the studio to keep nosy press members off the actual scent of the production. But the description of Jared Leto’s Joker gels with what we have been hearing, so take all of this info an make of it what you will! Suicide Squad wants to be in theaters on August 5, 2016.
