Lorne Michaels Pages a Movie

Perhaps he's tired of helping all his SNL alumni make crap movies and feels its time to show his own stories instead. Whatever his reasons Lorne Michaels, creator and producer of "Saturday Night Live" is setting his next movie in a world he's a little more familiar with: being a producer.

According to Empire Online Michaels' next project will be about university graduates who, rather than doing something useful with their lives, go to work for a New York media group where they serve as whipping boys (and likely girls) to the company's varied guests. The movie, titled Pages (think "Scrubs" in a TV studio, perhaps?), does not yet have a cast or director. But that's OK. They don't have a script yet either.

They do have a writer, though! Matt Piedmont, a seven year veteran of the SNL writing team, is in charge of pulling the script together. This will be Piedmont's first attempt at a feature length movie, although his many years at Saturday Night will no doubt have a heavy influence on his style. I'm not sure whether that makes me want to laugh or cry.
