Comedian Ben Schwartz, best known as the scene-stealing Jean Ralphio of Parks and Recreaton, is due to bring a bit of bro-infused humor into Brad Furman's soon-to-shoot thriller Runner Runner. The film stars Justin Timberlake as a college student who falls in deep to the treacherous world of online gambling, leading him to become the protégé for a shady offshore gambling CEO, played by Ben Affleck. THR reports Schwartz has signed on to play a friend of Timberlake's poker-playing protagonist.

Already, I am imagining Jean Ralphio explaining why online poker is the ideal way to riches, utilizing plenty of overworked yet endearing slang. Of course, in reality Schwartz will probably tone down his comedy stylings for Runner Runner, but it seems likely his character will harbor a familiar sense of braggadocio.

Though this is likely a small role, that's really all Schwartz needs to make a memorable impression. Beyond that, this is just one of the irons the hot comedian has in the fire. In April he sold a romantic comedy script to Universal. Production has just wrapped on Better Living Through Chemistry, in which he appears opposite Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell, and now he is getting rolling on a promising voice acting career that includes a role in the 2013 animated feature Turbo, a guest spot on the comedy nerd-adored cartoon Bob's Burgers, and a co-starring role opposite Patton Oswalt in the upcoming animated Fox pilot Working Class Hero. In short, there's plenty ahead for fans of this bushy haired bro to look forward to.

Runner Runner goes into production in Puerto Rico this summer.
