In Sinister, the new horror movie from director Scott Derrickson, Ethan Hawke plays a true crime writer who moves to a new house with his family while investigating a mysterious quadruple murder. In the new house the character finds a box of super 8 films, all of which have the same strange, disturbing face embedded in them somewhere. And Summit Entertainment isn't even trying to hide said face in their marketing materials.

The studio has released two posters for the film thus far and both have had the demonic visage front and center, so it's no surprise that this third one-sheet is doing the exact same thing. But while the last two pieces tried to be a bit creative with the face, adding a homey/creepy quality with nice wallpaper and a little kid, this new poster isn't screwing around. This October is rich with new horror movies including Paranormal Activity 4, Silent Hill Revelation 3D, and VHS, and Sinister will be arriving before many of them on October 5th. Derrickson is best known as the filmmaker behind The Exorcism of Emily Rose and his new movie co-stars Clare Foley, James Ransone, Juliet Rylance, Michael Hall D'Addario, Vincent D'Onofrio and Fred Dalton Thompson.
