The last time J.J. Abrams was on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show he brought along a preview of Star Trek Into Darkness that was only three frames long. While people around the internet were able to extract the images from those three frames and identify Spock (Zachary Quinto) in a volcano suit, it wasn't much to look at really. But last night Quinto visited the same show and worked to blow the doors open and give fans a better look into the sequel...kinda.

Claiming to be working without permission from Abrams (his director) or Paramount Pictures (the distributing studio), Quinto brought a bit of "footage" from the new movie to the show and you can watch it in a clip from the show below.

As mentioned in the clip, those of you desperately waiting for your first glimpse of Star Trek Into Darkness should head to an IMAX screening of The Hobbit where they will be showing a nine minute preview of the film as well as the first trailer.

Star Trek Into Darkness brings back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, and John Cho as the most famous crew of the Enterprise and Benedict Cumberbatch will play the movie's central villain - whose identity remains a mystery. The script was written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof and Abrams filmed the movie in both IMAX and 3D. To get ready for the feature's release on May 17th of next year be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database.
