Josh Gad spent weeks on the set of Murder on the Orient Express trying to get his co-star Daisy Ridley to spill the secrets of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Now the actor is co-starring with another Star Wars actor, so he's at it again. Gad is currently filming the movie Little Monsters with Lupita Nyong'o, the actress behind Maz Kanata. In a recently posted video he asks her to give him the spoilers, and when she won't, he calls in the big guns, and it's hilarious. Check it out.
When Josh Gad initially asks Lupita Nyong'o to spill her guts, which is ironic considering she looks like they've already been spilled, she brushes him off because, hey, Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out in barely over a week, at this point, everybody can wait, right? However, Gad had a backup plan in the form of a child doing a "book report" and needing help. She then reads off a series of questions regarding Luke and Leia potentially meeting in The Last Jedi as well as trying to get details on Snoke that might reveal more as to who he is.
This video might be even better than the time that Josh Gad enlisted Judi Dench to try and help him pull answers out of Daisy Ridley. Gad and Ridley did a series of videos on social media that were all hilarious, and this one is no exception. Lupita Nyong'o is as good a straight woman as Ridley if not better. The look on her face when Gad pans the camera back after the first question from the kid is a thing a beauty.
Also, a special shoutout needs to be made to Josh Gad's glorious takedown of those who have been hypercritical of Olaf's Frozen Adventure of late. He defends receiving spoilers because they're not that important, claiming that he "apparently spoiled Coco for single men and women in their mid to late 40s with blogs."
Well played, Mr. Gad. Well played.
However, with a little over a week to go before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, if Josh Gad wants to continue hounding Lupita Nyong'o in new and hilarious ways, we won't complain. These videos are the perfect way to pass the time before the new film's big premiere. We'll get answers for ourselves in ten days.
