Subscribe To Weekend Box Office: Stallone Bites Bullet to the Head Updates
It's Superbowl Sunday, which means a quiet weekend at the box office. So, what kind of movie would open on a weekend where it's almost guaranteed to see a lower than usual opening? How about one that you wish no one knew even existed?

That may not be exactly what the production team behind Bullet to the Head had in mind, but everything about this movie screams "please forget me"! It opens on a weekend when its target audience (aging Stallone fans) are too busy planning and attending their Superbowl extravaganzas. There's been little to no major marketing campaign. The result? The second lowest wide-release opening in Stallone's career. That's not just the movie's title, it seems to be what the movie deserves. With just $4.5 million it landed in sixth place, destined to die fast and quiet.

The only other newcomer managed a modest first place. With $19 million over the weekend proper ($20 million when you roll in some Thursday previews) the inventive zombie drama brought a bright spot to an otherwise dismal weekend in theaters.
