More than four years after they were married and more than nine years after they first started dating, Fergie and Josh Duhamel are taking the biggest step in their relationship yet. The couple announced this morning that she’s pregnant with their first child.

Specifics such as her due date and whether or not the couple know the sex of the child have not been made public, but we do know Fergie and Josh have been trying for a baby for quite awhile. After the death of their beloved dog Meatloaf this summer, they told E! Online they were going to focus on trying to make a human being before adopting another animal.
Whenever he or she is born, it will be the first child for the pair and mark the final transition into their slow domestication. While both still work regularly, they’ve made it a point to spend as much time together as they can over the past few years, and when the baby comes, that focus on family will likely increase even more.
