Police Reportedly Recovered A Stolen Gun At Katt Williams' House

Two days after Katt Williams was arrested and charged with child endangerment following a welfare check conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, the comedian’s perilous legal situation has somehow gotten even worse. Authorities are now saying one of the several guns recovered from his home was previously reported stolen.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Williams has officially been charged with possession of a stolen firearm, though it’s unclear whether the district attorney will more aggressively move forward on that count or the child endangerment count since they’re only vaguely related. Further, it’s not even clear whether this charge will even matter given how many other outstanding charges and still being investigated cases the comedian has hanging over this head.

Since Williams’ initial arrest following the welfare check, he publically said he’s a law-abiding American who is allowed to own guns and shouldn’t be hassled for exercising his right to do so. This whole stolen gun allegation, however, puts a new wrinkle on the situation. Authorities haven’t released details yet on who the weapon was supposedly taken from or why it might have wound up in Williams’ possession, but if they start talking in specifics, we’ll let you know what the story is.

I don’t know what’s going on with Katt right now. He kept his nose at least relatively clean for most of his life, but for the past few months, it’s like he’s been intentionally seeking out problems. Here’s to hoping he gets it together sooner rather than later.
