Salma Hayek's Dog Has Been Tragically Shot And Killed

There’s nothing quite as tragic as the death of a pet. Once our furry friends come into our home, they quickly become members of the family, our friends, or even our children. So when something tragic happens to a pet, it’s hard to move on. Now it appears that something insanely awful and tragic occurred to a certain celebrities’s dog. And it’s an absolutely insane story.

TMZ is reporting that Salma Hayek’s pet dog was shot by an unidentified stranger. The pooch, named Mozart, was 9-years old at the time of his death. The story behind his death is as unsettling as it is sad.

Mozart was found dead on Salma Hayek’s ranch in Washington State. Upon examination of the deceased puppy, a bullet was reportedly found close to Mozart’s heart. The incident apparently occurred almost a week ago, but Hayek has just recently opened up about the tragedy.

Salma Hayek announced Mozart’s tragic death via social media on the actress’ instagram post. Take a look.

As reported in Hayek’s instagram post, she was exceedingly close to Mozart. She helped bring Mozart into the world by assisting in his birth by physically pulling the dog out of his mother’s womb. That’s an extreme bond that began at the time of life. To suddenly have such a close relationship ripped away due to an unnecessary killing is almost unthinkable.

While we often imagine celebrities to be completely separate from us, the loss of a beloved pet is a universal low. Putting down a dog because of old age is difficult enough to cope with and mourn, but having your pet randomly shot and killed is something else entirely.

TMZ is reporting that Mozart’s killer is unidentified so far. This must surely create a feeling of fear and anxiety with Salma Hayek, as her pet was killed on her property. The idea of an armed intruder possibly roaming the grounds is chilling. Surely she’ll be beefing up security in response to this incident.

Salma Hayek is best known as an actress for her role in the 2002 drama Frida. Her performance in the biopic was universally praised, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In television, she has the most notoriety for her recurring role in the ABC comedy Ugly Betty, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series.

Our thoughts are with Salma Hayek and her family at this time. We hope that the investigation regarding this tragedy will result in swift action against the killer of this innocent animal.
