Watch This Baby Lose It After Her Dad Shaves His Beard

When a man sports a beard for a long period of time, it becomes part of his identity. He becomes very difficult to even picture without the facial accessory. I should know. It’s been more than three years since I haven’t rocked a beard of some length, and I worry I wouldn’t even recognize myself if I chopped it all off. Let the record show this video only increases those fears.

About a year and a half ago, a man with a really sweet winter beard decided to shave it all off. As a goof, he had his wife film him with the beard playing with his daughter. Then, he snuck off to the bathroom, shaved it quickly and came back out to play with his daughter. He probably expected the poor one-year-old girl would be a little confused, but she was a whole lot more than that. In fact, she was downright angry, probably because her father was no longer the epitome of manhood.

The footage was uploaded onto YouTube back in March of 2012, but as often happens with cute videos like this, the actual trending didn’t start happening until very recently. Regardless, it’s nice to see such a goofy and loveable moment go viral, and it’s nice to see parents who are clearly super invested in their child.

There are few things better than a big manly beard. In my entire life, I’ve never once seen my father without facial hair, and to be honest, that’s the way I want it. This poor little girl won’t have that luxury, but for her sake, I hope her old man gets it together and realizes he looks better with the shaggy masterpiece.
