Moana

I've written the Best Movie Music Moments column for Cinema Blend since 2009, and I can tell you that this year was an incredibly special year from music in film.

Moana has continued an unprecedented year for Walt Disney Animation, who delivered two movies in one calendar frame that actually are considered instant classics.

Major changes like this are, to me, fascinating because they show the different directions that feature-length stores (and instant classics) could have possibly gone down before reaching theaters.

Moana is so popular in Hawaii that Disney fans in the state literally can't get their hands on tickets.

In classic Disney fashion, Moana is packed to the gills with memorable and funny side characters, but certainly one of the funniest is Hei Hei -- the incredibly dumb rooster played by Alan Tudyk.

Animated feature films take years to make it from the idea phase to actually becoming a finished product. Quite often, ideas change drastically over time. Moana was no different.
