Who would have thought that showing celebrities singing along to songs in a car would make for one of the most popular late night talk show segments and viral videos ever? Well, James Corden and the Late Late Show creative team, I guess. The hilarious and vocally impressive Carpool Karaoke will soon take on one of its most impressive and iconic guests yet, as the legendary Madonna has announced to the world she and James Corden had hit the harmonious highway together earlier today. Check out the picture!
First off, I want to know if Madonna calling James Corden a "Hunk of Burning Love" in her post means that we'll be getting to watch the Queen of Pop singing something from The King himself, Elvis Presley. That isn't usually the kind of song that Carpool Karaoke strives for, but it's not an impossibility. Perhaps she was only referring to her own track "Burning Up" from her debut album. Maybe it was just hot in the car.
For over 30 years, the solo-named entertainer has been wowing fans, admittedly more with her musing than her live-action work, and she has sold over 300 million albums, putting her behind only the aforementioned Elvis, The Beatles and Michael Jackson as the best selling musician of all time. So yeah, she's just sli-i-i-i-ightly a hallmark guest for Carpool Karaoke. And unless Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr agree to go for a ride, she might just be the apex.
This has to be a dream both for James Corden and for anyone who adores Carpool Karaoke. So many popular musicians have already hopped into the passenger seat, including Britney Spears, Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, Adele, Elton John and many more. I guess maybe if Madonna, Britney Spears and Elton John were all part of the same segment, that would be the most amazing thing of all time, even outside of Carpool Karaoke.
We don't know yet when we'll be able to see Madonna's Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show with James Corden, but it's coming soon, so tune in every weeknight to find out when it's happening. You know this guy is gonna be watching.
