Even in the green of April, Game Of Thrones fans know that Winter is coming. As the weeks march on towards the July premiere of the beloved HBO series, media and fans are doing all they can to reveal some secrets regarding Season 7. While the actors of the series have done a fairly decent job at remaining tight-lipped in regards to the show, it appears Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) might have slipped up and spilled the beans on a big meet up in a recent interview:
I'm excited about this season because a lot of the momentum we've been building with this winter that is coming or has been coming for a long time kicks into gear now. And there's a continuation of characters who haven't previously interacted coming together, which is always exciting to watch.
That sounds a lot like we're going to see Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow teaming up! Hopefully, someone puts it out there that they're related and we don't have to see an awkward romance ensue between the two. Then again, related love seems to be a Game Of Thrones move, and historically, the Targaryen's like to keep it in the family if you know what I mean. Stepping away from that topic, Nathalie Emmanuel's statement seems to be solid confirmation that Jon and Dany will for sure meet in Season 7 of Game Of Thrones.
That's not earth-shattering news, mind you, as rumors have swirled for a of couple years now that the two would be meeting up at some point in the story. We've also had some more concrete evidence prior to Nathalie Emmanuel talking to Instyle, where characters from Dany and Jon's camps were seen together during filming. Given the recent teases from HBO that appear to indicate another powerful alliance, it would definitely make sense for the two to pool their resources in what is sure to be an epic battle for the Seven Kingdoms. Are we going to get to see Jon riding a dragon? I want to see Jon ride a dragon.
The wait is still agonizingly far away as Game Of Thrones will return to HBO July 16th at 9 p.m. ET. With over three months of waiting to get through, you'll have more than enough time to sit and ponder exactly when Jon and Dany will meet in Season 7. I think we're all hoping it's sooner rather than later, and we don't end the season with the two coming face to face with some nod to Star Wars or something like that. If you can only obsess about GOT for so long, head on over to our midseason premiere guide and summer premiere guide and start preparing your countdown to Westeros binge list to make the wait seem shorter.
