2021 has already been a huge year for Mayim Bialik. She reteamed with The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons in bringing to life Fox's Call Me Kat, a sitcom revision of the UK comedy Miranda that she considers a career highlight. She started up her own mental health podcast with Mayim Bialik's Breakdown. And Bialik also managed to earn a spot as a Jeopardy! guest host, with her episodes coming soon. Now, her celebrations are continuing, with Fox having officially confirmed Call Me Kat has been renewed for Season 2.

While it can only be assumed that the great Leslie Jordan had to be coaxed down from throwing massive roof parties after Call Me Kat's renewal news was announced, Mayim Bialik took a quieter and more subtle approach by celebrating the news on social media. Here's how she shared her excitement on Twitter:

Meow indeed! While Call Me Kat obviously didn't end on any Breaking Bad-esque cliffhangers with its Season 1 finale, one of her cats did die to coincide with the cafe's one-year anniversary. Plus, viewers were left wondering whether Mayim Bialik's Kat would stick with Christopher Rivas' Oscar, who made up for joking about the cat's death by driving far out of his way to pick up the cremated ashes, or if she'd continue building her feelings for Cheyenne Jackson's Max, who was far kinder about the cat's death in the first place. The best news here is that we won't have to learn what happens from creator Darlene Hunt in a post-cancellation interview; we get to actually watch it!

Having Season 2 already locked down will also give Call Me Kat's creative team a chance to potentially do more with Jim Parsons, who serves as an executive producer on the Fox sitcom. He's actually the one who brought the Miranda remake pitch to Mayim Bialik in the first place, thinking she would be perfect as the lead, so the former Big Bang Theory star is very much just as enthusiastic as Bialik is by Fox's renewal news. Here's what he had to say on Instagram:

Jim Parsons said at one point that he wouldn't be automatically against making an on-screen appearance for Call Me Kat if the role and situation made sense. At this point, he seems fine to just stay back on the sidelines while letting Mayim Bialik and her fantastic co-stars earn all the attention. However, Parsons is absolutely aware how much fans would love to see him appear in a scene with Bialik again after so many years of Sheldon and Amy's atypical relationship. And if not in Season 2, then in Season 3!

With Call Me Kat's 12-episode first season having wrapped back in March, it legitimately wasn't clear at all what its future might be, as it goes for many on-the-bubble shows at this point in the year. The sitcom's viewership numbers were not always so impressive following its post-NFL series premiere, and Fox hasn't gone very heavy on live-action comedies in the past few years, with more animated and unscripted series filling the network's time slots. Still, Mayim Bialik prevailed, and Call Me Kat survived against any and all odds to keep Leslie Jordan on TV for at least one more season.

Stay tuned for more info on when Call Me Kat Season 2 might make its way to Fox, but the 2021 Summer TV schedule has lots to keep everyone busy in the meantime.
