Battlestar Galactica's Jamie Bamber To Star In David E. Kelley's TNT Pilot Chelsea General

While he hasn’t exactly become a household name (unless you live in a household that loves sci-fi), Jamie Bamber has been keeping busy since the completion of Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica. In addition to a steady gig on Law & Order: UK, he’s appeared on House and CSI: Miami. We also came close to seeing him in a starring role on network TV, but NBC ended up passing on the Precinct 17 pilot. Now, it looks like he may be headed back to cable for the British actor.

Deadline shared the news that Bamber has been cast in the lead role of David E. Kelley’s upcoming new medical drama for TNT, Chelsea General. The pilot, which was picked up last year by TNT, is based on Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s medical drama Monday Mornings and follows five medical surgeons as they “push the limits of their abilities and confront their personal and professional failings.”

Bamber is set to play Dr. Tyler Wilson, a neurosurgeon who “has a fling” with another doctor, played by the also recently cast Jennifer Finnigan.

Bamber isn’t the only BSG vet to star in a TNT pilot. Once-Cylon Tricia Helfer is is set to star in the cable channel's drama pilot Scent of the Missing. Hopefully we’ll hear good news from both of these projects. ?
