In less than a week, FX will unveil their new Thursday-night comedy line-up, which in addition to including the return of Wilfred and Louie for new seasons, will also debut the premieres of the Charlie Sheen-starring sitcom Anger Management and Russell Brand's new comedy series Brand X. We have some promos and a clip from the latter project, which offer a glimpse of the kind of humor we might be able to expect from this series.

Much in the way Louie's success relies on an appreciate for Louis CK's style of humor, it seems the same will be the case for Brand X, which appears to be largely focused on Russell Brand's stand-up comedy and sense of humor in general. The series will have Brand offering his commentary on various current events and world issues. He'll also interact with the live audience and based on one of the videos we have to show you here, occasionally conduct interviews…

Here are a couple of promos for the series.

Needless to say, it seems like an appreciation for Brand's style of comedy is going to be required to enjoy this show. Fortunately for me, I have that, so I'll be very interested to see what Brand does with this series and how it fits in with what FX has lined up for us on Thursday nights.

Brand X with Russell Brand premieres June 28 at 11:00 p.m. on FX.
