When someone’s life is at full disposal to the rest of the world through reality television and tabloids, it’s probably hard to keep a private life intact. But despite incessant headline space given to Bruce Jenner’s recent changes in appearance and sexuality, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has kept largely mum about it all, with no direct confirmation about how far along he is in transitioning into a woman. That may all change soon, however, as Jenner’s exclusive interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer has been set to air later this month.

The intimate Jenner-Sawyer interview will take place on Friday, April 24, as a special edition of 20/20. It’s going by the to-the-point title Bruce Jenner – The Interview, and it’ll be two hours in length, starting at 9 p.m. ET. That is definitely more than enough time for Sawyer to eke out some interesting information out of Jenner, depending on how candid and honest he’s willing to get. I’m pretty sure I’d tell Diane Sawyer my ATM PIN, so here’s hoping Jenner gets things out in the open so that rampant speculation can die down a little. (Like, for instance, TMZ’s story about Jenner’s heavy sweatshirt being a sure sign that he’s started his breast enhancement procedures.)

Jenner, whose original claim to fame was winning a gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, first hit the reality show scene as part of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2003, and appeared in a handful of other series before Keeping Up with the Kardashians hit E! in 2007 and took the world by storm. It’s indeed family sources that have been the main well of “information” regarding Jenner’s long-gestating embrace of his transgenderism, with some reportedly saying that he’s known he was a woman since childhood. And it’s an upcoming reality television project that could water down the interview’s subject matter.

Jenner is filming a docu-series that will chronicle his changes from manhood to womanhood, and he’ll undoubtedly want to keep some of that material under wraps, since the new series supposedly isn’t going to air until after Season 10 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is finished in a couple of months. Still, I’m thinking that getting into his history and his evolving feminine side will go a long way in getting people more interested in the reality show, since the Sawyer interview probably won’t be too focused on showing footage of Jenner’s transistion.

So don’t forget. Tune into ABC on Friday, April 24 for Bruce Jenner – The Interview
