Change Of Scenery For Wire Star

Okay, so you know how you should totally be watching The Wire because it’s supposed to be sooo amazing and every time a new season of it airs, there are about a trillion reviews talking about how it’s the best thing on television? Those same reviews also always bemoan the fact that no one is actually watching it, and you have that friend who keeps getting on your case and you’re all, “yeah, yeah, it’s in my Netflix queue,” and it totally is, but it somehow keeps on getting pushed down the list by like, Lauren Graham movies and Season 4 of The O.C. You totally want to watch it too, but, Ryan’s a cage fighter, and…maybe this is more of a personal problem.

Anyway…

If, for one shameful reason or another, you haven’t had the opportunity to check out The Wire’s stellar actors, you’ll get another chance this fall when Lance Reddick joins the cast of Lost. According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello , Reddick, who played Major Cedric Daniels on The Wire, will be taking the role of Arthur Stevens, an intimidating corporate-recruiter character. The casting notice for the part describes him as someone who “may smile and his words may sound soothing, but their effect can send chills up your spine."

Looking at the above-right picture, doesn’t it seem like the casting department probably did a pretty good job? He’s definitely going to give Ben a run for his money in the “which ‘Other’ has the creepiest stare” competition.

In other Lost casting news, Ken Leung, who appeared on another critically-acclaimed HBO drama, The Sopranos (He played Uncle Junior’s poker buddy), is also joining the show. In keeping with Lost’s mysterious nature, the exact role he’s playing hasn’t been announced, but there has been speculation.

Some believe that he’ll be playing Russell, an Other who is “a brilliant mathematician in his late thirties who is ‘capable of great insights and has a tremendous knowledge across various scientific fields,’” who we first heard about

[[ http kristen-bell-might-get-lost-5701.html television www.cinemablend.com ]] earlier this month. There’s also a possibility that he’s playing “a top-secret role that no one (save for [the writers]) knows anything about.”

With its ever expanding cast, it looks as though it will only be a matter of time before actors from all of the best HBO shows will pop up on Lost. Personally, I’m looking forward to the day we see Mr. Big swilling a martini and chomping on a cigar down in a hatch somewhere. In the meantime, we still have about six months until Lost returns. Why not pass the time by catching up on The Wire?

Lost’s 4th Season is set to premiere on ABC in February.
