Dish Network Reaches Short-Term Deal With E! And Style

If you have Dish Network you may have noticed you woke up this morning still having access to E! and Style networks. Score one for well-intentioned cooperation. Just a few days ago the two sides were apart enough in negotiations that future blackouts were widely assumed, however a last minute, short-term deal was brokered to extend coverage.

According to Deadline, E! and Style released a statement saying the agreement was made “in hopes of reaching a long-term solution.” It’ll come at some point. As I said in the previous write-up, E! is too big a channel to simply not offer over the long haul. Stations like History International and Hallmark could fall by the wayside without losing a noticeable number of subscribers, but it seems strange anyone would willingly choose a satellite provider that won’t let them watch The Soup.

We’ll update you when a formal agreement is finally reached.
