Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special 'The Day Of The Doctor' Trailer And Excellent Photo Of All 11 Doctors
We're coming up on the one-month mark in the countdown to the anticipated 50th anniversary Doctor Who special. BBC America passed along the above trailer, which looks back at the various incarnations of the adventurous Doctor, while Matt Smith, the Eleventh Doctor, narrates. "I've been running all my lives," he says. "Through time and space. Every second of every minute of every day for over 900 years. I fought for peace in a universe of war. Now the time has come to face the choices I've made in the name of the Doctor. Our future depends on one single moment of one impossible day. The day I've been running from all my life. The day of the Doctor."
And the trailer also manages to work in the Daleks' trademark "Exterminate!" line and a glimpse of Clara, the Doctor's most recent companion.
BBC America also released this excellent promotional photo, which puts all of the Doctors in order. Click the image to view the HD version.
In this photo from "The Day of the Doctor," we have Matt Smith, his predecessor David Tennant and John Hurt.
And here's a Doctor who can't let go…
Of course, Matt Smith will be letting go at the end of the year, as the eleventh Doctor regenerates and makes way for a number 12. But before that happens, we get "The Day of the Doctor," Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary episode, which will run for 75 minutes.
