Eureka Will Be Back Next Summer

Sci Fi’s hit show ‘Eureka’ has been picked up for another season. This news shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to people. The show, which premiered this summer, is the network’s highest rated TV show this year according to TV.com, averaging 2.7 million viewers a week.

In fact, the pilot episode, which premiered July 18th was the highest rated episode of any show ever to air on the Sci Fi network. On October 3rd, the finale of ‘Eureke’ beat out the premiere episode of season 3 of ‘Veronica Mars’ in the ratings.

The show centers on a mysterious town called Eureka which inhabits a community of gifted individuals who were rounded up by the government so they could live and work away from the watchful eye of the rest of civilization. Needless to say, some really weird stuff goes down in Eureka. Since Sci-fi fans love really weird stuff, its not shocker that the show has been such a huge success.

Production for the new season will start in the summer of 2007
