This article contains some major spoilers from last Sunday night's episode of Game of Thrones, so if you're not caught up, read no further!
Game of Thrones' loss is Suits gain! Just days after Michelle Fairley's GoT made her gruesome and terrible exit on the HBO drama series, comes word that Fairley's headed over to USA for a recurring role on Suits, which is heading into its third season this summer.
EW says Fairley will play the recurring role of Ava Hessington, "a British entrepreneur who runs a successful international oil company." She looks to Gabriel Macht's attorney character Harvey Specter to help her deal with a lawsuit that could end up costing her the family business. Harvey's always up for a challenge, so Ava should be in good hands, assuming inner-conflict at the law firm doesn't get in the way of him representing her, of course.
We'll see her in the Suits Season 3 premiere, which is scheduled to air July 16 on USA.
Here's where we get to the GoT spoilers! Fairley played one of the leads in HBO's Game of Thrones, and those who read the books or who were spoiled previously knew her character Catelyn's death was coming. She was killed off in bloody fashion, her throat slit not long after she watched her eldest son Robb and his pregnant bride slaughtered by Walder Frey's men, and just moments after she slashed the throat of Frey's young wife. Red wedding, indeed! Two more Starks down for the count. Alas, Catelyn's death means Fairley's available for other roles, and it's no surprise that she'd be snatched up for a new role so soon.
EW points out that Fairley isn't the only GoT to appear on Suits. Conleth Hill, who plays Varys in GoT will return to his role as Edward Darby in Suits' third season.
