If you're wondering why your DVR didn't record last night's episode of Glee, it's because the series didn't air a new episode, and it won't until November 7, however Fox has released some colorful cast photos to remind us that Glee will go on. That includes the one above, which shows us Lea Michele looking adorable as Rachel.
And here's the photo of Matthew Morrison as Will Schuester.
Usually we see promotional images like these released ahead of the new season, but considering last week's episode, which focused on the death of Finn Hudson (played by Cory Monteith, who passed away this summer), now seems like the right time to show us the cast with smiles on their faces.
"The Quarterback" served as a memorial for both Monteith and his character. The episode brought in over seven million viewers, up significantly from the episode that preceded it, "Tina in the Sky with Diamonds." I'm willing to bet that a lot of those added viewers were former viewers of the series who returned to see how Monteith and Finn were memorialized. And "The Quarterback" certainly didn't disappoint, delivering a number of very moving musical performances.
The official videos of those performances have gone viral, some more than others. Of the songs Fox put on the official Glee YouTube channel, Rachel's "To Make You Feel My Love" was the top viewed, bringing in 2.66 million views so far:
The next highest-viewed song from "The Quarterback" so far is the cast singing Rent song "Seasons of Love." Not only was the song emotional, but it did a nice job of bringing most of the characters together at the start of the episode.
And coming in third was Santana's performance of "If I Die Young," which currently has a view count of about 1.37 million.
Mercedes' "I'll Stand By You" also broke the 1 million view count.
The next new episode to air is called "A Katy or a Gaga," which will feature music from Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Sounds like a fun one. And former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert will make a guest appearance, as will returning guest star Demi Lovato.
Glee airs Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET on Fox.
