I spend a lot of my time gushing over HBO. And rightfully so, since you could make the argument that they've changed television programs for the better and left a lasting footprint on the landscape of both network and cable. The number one thing about HBO programming that proved a prevailing influence on the medium was their, once unique, cinematic approach. There would be no Lost without HBO.

Nor do they rest on their laurels. In many respects, you could make a pretty convincing analogy between HBO's television work and Pixar's films: just because they have such an impressive track record doesn't mean they should stop striving for greatness. Of course, this argument might require a bit of selective memory when it comes to Cars 2...let's just forget that one and look ahead to Brave.

This new promotional spot for HBO showcases all that I have been talking about. You can quickly see, as they run through their list of summer programs, that any network would, and should, be envious of and aspire to match the consistent quality that comes out of Home Box Office Entertainment.

This "Summer Image Spot" throws all of their summer plans into a montage for us to see what's coming down the pipeline, but it also gives a glimpse at some never-before-seen footage from the upcoming (or just returned) summer shows like True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, Hung, Bored to Death, and How to Make It in America, as well as the new series, Enlightened. Wow, seeing them listed like that, what a line-up, and this is just their summer plans.

Better start planning your schedule.
