Househusbands Of Hollywood Set To Premiere In August

The sound you’re hearing is my brain squeezing oozing down the wall. The sickening realization that there’s even more reality television to be had is driving me insane. Between avoiding Bad Girls Club and wondering who’s stupid enough to think they’ll be Paris’ BFF based on a television competition I have come to the near end of tolerance. Fox Reality Channel has announced their next thing for the genre, and to no one’s surprise it consists of a revamping to current formulas.

Househusbands of Hollywood is set to premiere in August. The show has what you want in reality programming. A cast of has-beens and wannabes with no real interesting idiosyncrasies. I can get behind the Celebrity Rehab situation because those people are hiding out on roofs doing drugs. That’s quality entertainment. This new show will follow the likes of luminaries who no one cares about. Former LA Dodger Billy Ashley, husband of makeup artist Lisa Ashley. Makeup artist’s husband? A Different World’s Darryl M. Bell also shows up for fun…uh, not doing anything time. The common theme is that these guys bring home no paycheck. Or so little that it doesn’t matter.

Executive Producer Marilyn Wilson seems to think the househusbands will have something interesting to say in their stories to the common American family. For some reason I don’t think the househusbands are going to be offering sage advice about saving for college or how to properly dust a room so as not to cause a bigger mess than when you started.

The nine episode series is set to premiere on the Fox Reality Channel in August 2009.
