The Academy Awards isn’t the only show in need of a new host. While the issue of who will host the Oscars seems to be settled, there’s also the matter of who will step in to fill the hosting position recently vacated by Piers Morgan on NBC’s talent competition America’s Got Talent.

As of last season, NBC’s summer talent competition series America’s Got Talent had Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel, and Piers Morgan set as judges for the series, with Nick Cannon serving as host, however Morgan, who is the last of the original three judges on the series, tweeted that he’s leaving the show to focus more time on his CNN talk show. Who will set up to replace him on AGT?

According to the Wall Street Journal, Howard Stern may be the man for the job. The radio personality is apparently in “serious negotiations” with NBC to become a judge on AGT. Should the deal go through, Stern would be earning a $15 million a year paycheck for the job.

Stern’s well known for his honest and humorous (depending on your sense of humor) opinions, which could serve him well as a judge on the show. He also has a lot of very loyal fans, which could serve to increase ratings for the already popular summer series. Then again, there may be just as many people who dislike him enough to stop watching. We’ll have to wait and see if this news becomes official.
