Some of the best Brad Pitt movies have landed him at the Academy Awards, including his Oscar-winning performance of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He's no stranger to Awards Shows, although he recently revealed a secret that I won't be able to unsee anytime soon.
Brad Pitt will soon reprise his Oscar-winning role in the upcoming The Adventures of Cliff Booth, and only time will tell if that results in more nominations. During a conversation with Esquire about his career he admitted he has no clue how to tie a bowtie. What's more, he said he "one hundred percent" accepted his Academy Award while wearing a clip on. As Pitt told the outlet:
Uh. No. And you know how many years I’ve said, ‘I’m gonna learn’? And then I get to the event and I haven’t learned, so I just clip her on and go about my business.
Honestly, this is pretty relatable. While I used to know how to tie a bow tie, I haven't actually done it in years. And like Pitt, I've taken to wearing pre-tied versions when attending formal occasions. In fact, I wore one just last weekend at the wedding of my friends.
Fans responded to Brad Pitt's Oscars speech, where he spoke about his long career in Hollywood. And it's fun to know that during that moment he was totally wearing a clip on bow tie while rocking Brioni three-piece tuxedo. In the same interview the Fight Club actor went on to say:
Just clip the fucker on. I don’t think I’ve been to an award ceremony without a clip-on.
Celebrities: sometimes they really are just like us. Despite how fancy an event like the Academy Awards is, Brad Pitt still ended up wearing a clip on bow tie to the star-studded affair. And I'm not going to be able to look at him at an Awards Show or premiere moving forward without thinking about the fact that he's most definitely wearing a clip on rather than a traditional bow tie.
While moviegoers are looking forward to the release of Brad Pitt's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spinoff, he continues to make headlines thanks to reported issues involved in his personal life. Specifically his divorce from Angelina Jolie and a number of their children dropping Pitt's last name. Only time will tell how things shake out there, but it's also clear that his star power hasn't been diminished as a result.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth is expected to hit theaters on November 25th as part of the 2026 movie release list. Afterward it will drop for those with a Netflix subscription on December 23rd. Hopefully he rocks a bow tie at the movie's premiere.
