It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Teases Season 8 Anime Style

It wasn't that long ago that FX was only thought of for reruns or baseball, if at all, and certainly wasn't on the tip of anyone's tongue when it came to talking about television's best original programming. But FX is now easily part of that conversation, with shows like The Shield and Rescue Me, and of course their first lasting comedy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
And look what that the little overachiever did to the landscape of comedic television over at FX, with shows like Louie, The League, Archer and Wilfred joining the fun and making it probably the network with the deepest bench when it comes to quality comedy. Plus it has Charlie Sheen! Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is just how important It's Always Sunny is to FX, highlighted by the fact they gave the guys (and girl) a two season renewal instead of the usual one.
But forget about the inevitable ninth, here's the first tease for a brand spanking new, 13-episode-long Season 8... "Beware!"
Well, that's why they call it a tease. The video showed absolutely no footage from the upcoming season (I don't think, who knows with this cast) but the mere reminder that Sunny is coming back, and soon, is exciting enough. And the anime spin was also good for a laugh or two. I mean, just look at Frank. Ridiculous. Perhaps not as effective as their 'Family Portrait' campaign last season but I'm more excited for 8 to kick off than I was 10 seconds ago.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for Season 8 this October on FX (with a ninth already picked up for the fall of 2013). Created by Rob McElhenney, it stars McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, Glen Howerton, Charlie Day and Danny DeVito.
