Love Bites Set To Premiere On NBC This June

If, like me, you’ve been waiting to see Becki Newton return to the small screen, there’s good news. NBC has finally set the premiere date for Love Bites, which stars the former Ugly Betty star.

According to Deadline Love Bites is finally has a premiere date. The hour-long comedy series is set up to premiere on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:00 p.m. Below is the premise for the series:

Love Bites is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three, loosely- connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each of the multiple vignettes will involve an array of talented guest stars every week and will illuminate the theme of love with a fresh, irreverent spin.

Newton, who played Amanda on Ugly Betty, is set to play Annie Matpoulos, a single girl in New York who’s “looking for Mr. Right Now.” While NBC has the show set to air during it’s original timeslot, the actual premiere comes months after it was originally scheduled to air. It was supposed to air on Thursday nights last fall but was pushed off for a number of reasons, including Newton’s pregnancy and Jordana Spiro’s exit due to her commitment to TBS’ My Boys.

With Love Bites set to actually be seen by the viewing public, that just leaves Friends with Benefits as the only show unveiled at last year’s upfronts that has yet to actually be put on the primetime schedule.

Love Bites sounds like it has potential and I sincerely hope it does better than The Paul Reiser Show, which only aired two episodes before NBC cancelled it.

Here's a preview video of the show, posted at NBC.com last year:
