McCormack Teams With TNT For Quirky Crime Solving Pilot

Eric McCormack and TNT seem destined to be together. TNT announced today that McCormack has signed up for the lead role in a new pilot tentatively called Perception.

Perception (working title) is a dramatic pilot being exec-produced by Kenneth Biller (Smallville, Legend of the Seeker), and centers on Dr. Geoffrey Pierce, an eccentric/quirky neuroscientist who uses his understanding of the human mind and behavior and his odd view of the world to help the government solve complex cases.

The series sounds a little bit like Lie To Me, as it follows a quirky guy who has a good read on people (and may or may not struggle socially despite his understanding of human nature).

This marks McCormack’s third project with TNT. While he’s probably most widely known for his role as Will in Will & Grace, he starred in TNT’s 2009 series Trust Me and co-produced a pilot in 2007 called Imperfect Union.
